People are sleeping on our whole running back room.
Defenses really Improved and so offensive line play really fell off in the last half of the year. Curious to see if Walkers numbers also dipped in second half.
Brian…. Brian you have forever taken the thorn out of my paw. I have been following Zach charbonnet since he was on my Nephew High School football team. He got recruited to MICHIGAN,and my Nephew went to UCLA . Two years later ZACH is at UCLA ,and i got to see ZACH do what he does best .Run through players. The best thing that ever happens to me is my favorite player is playing for my favorite team . Im bias i dont care .GO HAWKS great job Brian
He'll get more snaps this year, simply because our D will improve from 31 to like 10, our special teams will become elite, and our O line will be much better and deeper facilitating a much improved run game. Also, Grubb will run all game long if he senses that is the weakness to exploit. Charbonnet will wake everyone up by doubling or even tripling his rookie stats.

49ers have a more difficult schedule than at a quick glance. Overall their at a -22 rest day disadvantage (the worst in the league). They are facing 4 teams who are coming off a bye. Also facing the following teams who will have these rest advantages: @ Vikings +1, Pats +3, Chiefs +4, Cowboys +7, Seahawks +7, @ Bills +7 and Bears +3.
The 49ers were 1W 3L vs teams last year coming off a bye. The teams they face this year off a bye are Chiefs (week7), Cowboys (week8), Seahawks (week11) and Bills (week13). The only 2 teams that they will have a rest advantage against are Buccs +8 (week10) and Dolphins +3 (week16).

The defensive scheme wasn't prehistoric. You're not paying attention if you think our defensive philosophy didn't noticeably change over the past couple of years. People love to just default to "oh well Pete was old so that's why it was bad" The players weren't doing their jobs. Period. Unless that changes it doesn't matter who's coaching or what scheme we're running.

You probably should talk to a math person/statistician. Which I'm definitely not! But I'm pretty sure that's not how probability works. If you look at the League Table on Sumer Sports' front page, they predict 11.2 wins for the 49ers, 8.2 for the Hawks (8.3 for the Rams, 7.5 for the Cardinals.) That seems a lot more realistic.
You are correct, the way he calculated win/losses essentially equates to anything higher than 50% chance being a 100% probability of a win. If you wanted an easy way to simulate wins and losses based on the stats, you could roll a virtual 1000 sided dice and if you roll higher than the opponent's win probability (ie if the win probability is 35.2% for the Broncos, any roll 353 or higher on the dice would simulate a win). I rolled one season through and got Seahawks going 9-8 which is closer to their predictive wins on the front page.
Absolutely. Brian should hang his head here a bit. lol. If something has a 40% chance of happening... and you roll the dice 5 times... you should not expect zero successes. You should expect success twice. .4 + .4 + .4 + .4 + .4 = 2. So if we have a 17 game season, you can just add up all the % chances to get something closer to the actual predicted win total.
I'm not surprised. I bet heavy on the under 7.5. We're just not a good team. I know you're too blinded by your love for Geno to see that. He's a below average QB. We're a below average team. September will be looking good as we barely beat the Broncos and Patriots. "Wer'e just getting started gelling with the new coaches and schemes" you will all say. But come December even you homers won't be able to deny the suckiness that is the 2024 Seahawks. 5-12. That's what we'll be. We 'll go 1-5 in the division with another road win and 3 home wins vs non-division opponents. That's 5 wins.
5-12 is a bit harsh. If our offense can match last years level and the defense can improve, we should be looking at 8-9+ wins.

The offensive stats show what you saying as not true at all. The offense got those stats with garbage play calling and a garbage o-line. Just say you don’t like Geno for personal reasons because clearly it isn’t football play. Also, the stat show if our defense would have improved to 20th in the league, we would have went further.
With a worse coach, worse roster and tougher schedule, we ended up with 9 wins...

Imagine being the Chiefs and looking around their division every year. It's like the Patriots in the AFC East in the 00's & 10's.
Or like the 49ers of the 1980s being in a division with the NO Saints and the ATL Falcons, both of whom totally sucked throughout the 1980s. Being in a weak division is an underrated factor in the making of dynasties.

Apparently, I read a couple days ago that the Seahawks have the 8th easiest schedule in the NFL going into this season. If that's the case, a double-digit win season isn't out of reach.

Seahawks only play 4 road games in the first 12 weeks of the season. They kind of have no excuse for not getting off to a good start.
The reason will be the lack of time playing together under new coaches and schemes….be ready…..
They haven't had home field advantage in quite a few years. Hopefully lumen doesn't look like Santa Clara north or Pittsburg west this season.
@@iron_bison But just the rest alone- getting to sleep in your own bed for weeks on end- should help. The schedule does get tougher in the second half, with more road games, but hopefully they've stacked some wins by that point and can endure a few losses.
@@brianmyers4444 Which is why ownership probably doesn't really care about wins and losses this year. What they're looking for is improvement in position groups and for MacDonald's/Grubb's schemes to take hold.
@@AbbeyRoadkill1 ownership always cares about wins and losses…making the playoffs always matters….it puts money in their pocket and raises the profile of the team with local fans and around the country….gets the team more exposure in the media and higher tv profile…..extra important if Jody plans on selling the team in the next couple of years....thinking the record doesn’t matter is just nonsense…..

Witherspoon's had a really good rookie season but he's not an elite Corner yet. He has to get better to be worthy of the 5th pick in the draft PFF has him the 27th best CB . We need more impact plays passes defensed are good but all corners can do that. His run defense after the first 4 games he started took a downturn and he needs more INT's.
Lions will be a lose but hopefully not
